Mervyn Minnaar joins a very exclusive group of 55-year Nomads.
Mervyn has been married to Paddy for 60 years and was inducted 19/08/1971 – 55 years and 2 days ago, when he was a member of Clovelly. Mervyn served on the WP committee for 14 years mainly as handicapper and introduced the first computerised system with Rob Burnstein who was a programmer.
He became Captain in 1980 and then became National Chairman in 1984/85. Mervyn has played 409 games (which is some feat given he was overseas for 10 years …. see below), winning 2 Silver Trays – 45pts at Durbanville April 1978 and 40pts at Stellenbosch March 1985.
