Westlake welcomed us with cold and windy conditions. The scores reflect how tough it was out there.

We had a field of 116 players which included one visiting Nomad and 12 visitors, as well as an inductee. Congratulations to the division winners, Theo Van Zyl (35 pts off 7), George Bowes (35 pts off 11) and Dave Liebrecht (35 pts off 20). Our esteemed JVC Matt Demery was our Matchbox winner with 19 pts off a +1 handicap.

In my fourball I had the Captain of Westlake, Geoff Tuck. Thanks for joining us on the day Geoff, and for hosting us on your lovely course. Also joining me were Mike Heath and our last-minute partner Hugo Vermeulen. Unfortunately, Merwyn Minnaar who was meant to receive his 50-year tie had to withdraw as his wife was not well.

At prize giving we continued to grow our numbers with the induction of Louis Claasen (proposed by the late Carl Potgieter). We will hand over his jacket at our next non-virtual prize giving.

Lisa went above and beyond and was her usual professional self by getting out the draw in these trying times. We cannot thank her enough.

It was great to sit and have a few cold ones with fellow Nomads after the game and the sooner we can get back to full prize giving the better.
