A breezy Southeaster welcomed us to KDM but this did not seem to have any adverse impact on the scoring. Despite the wind there was some amazing golf.
We had a field of 120 players and the average score of 29.2 is an indication of the conditions. Congratulations to the Division winners, Ronan Copas (40 pts off 9), Gavin Scott (34 pts off 14) and Ronnie Basant (42 pts off 20).
In my fourball was golf director of KDM, Cameron Johnston who went round in a almost faultless round of 73. He does it with such ease and grace. It was great learning about some of the effort that goes into maintaining KDM and also how thing could be improved. I was also joined by Eduan Milner and Jan Bredenkamp who serve tirelessly on the committee and deserve all the recognition they receive. We had a great afternoon and plenty of laughs. Lekker met julle te jol kerels.
We welcomed five new members to our ranks. Eugene Geldenhuys, Patrick Nyumbu, Mbulelo Gela, Victor How Kow and Dwain Heldsinger were inducted and we wish them well on their Nomadic journey. We willdo a proper blazer presentation as soon as we are able to. Two of our inductees were in the prizes for the wrong reason. Dwain got matchbox and Victor was part of the Altar Bunnies. Welcome to Nomads guys.
As always a big thank you to Lisa for getting out the prize sheet so quickly having to do it remotely. I really appreciate all your trouble.
Thank you, as always, to our national and local sponsors. Our next monthly game is at Kuils River on 25 February 2021.
Yours in Nomads
