The conditions at Bellville were tough. The scoring average for the day was 27.4!
Our National Chairman, Stuart McIver, was here for his official visit. I think he was the talisman as we won best playing fourball on 120 points, but on the other hand, his Buffalo is safely in my wallet. Also in my fourball we had Werner Theart, the GM of Bellville GC as well as committee member of Bellville and our treasurer, Hugo Vermeulen. Thanks for a great day gentleman and all the laughs.
It was great to have the beer barrel out for the first time in 18 months and the camaraderie was great to see. Also having our sponsor boards to give recognition to our sponsors was a first since Covid struck.
We had a field of 99 players with 3 visiting Nomads and 8 visitors.
Congratulations to the Division winners, Louis Claasen (33 pts off 1), Mark Stofberg (34 pts off 12) and Henlo Weber (38 pts off 22). Andrew Roberts was our Matchbox winner with 16 pts off a 9 handicap
We said farewell Carl Potgieter with his family present to do the badge pinning. It was an emotional goodbye, and the big guy is sorely missed. It was great that we were able to this at his beloved home course, Bellville.
Lisa was her usual professional and friendly self and was ably assisted by Catherine Bryington. We cannot thank our ladies enough for their support.
Thanks, as always, to our national and local sponsors. We look forward to our next game is at Rondebosch on 2nd December 2021.
Yours in Nomads
